The Commander’s Corner:
We are starting another year with your new officers in place and ready to serve you and the Post. Please help us to make this an outstanding Post of the American Legion. If you have any comments, questions or suggestions, please pass them on to me or a member of your Executive Board.
I hope all Legion members will join us up stairs at the Post on July 13th for our Monthly Legion meeting. I also ask that all members of the Auxiliary, Sons of the Legion, and Legion Riders support their respective meeting nights.
I would like to take this time to thank everyone that voted me in as Post Commander and I will do my best to work for you and the Post to make it one that you will enjoy being a member of.
EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION DAY IS AUGUST 14TH !!! Please come in and show your club employees how much you appreciate them and the job they have done for you.
Don't forget we have the WEB site up and running with all the information about the Post scheduled events. Visit it at www.legionpost72.org. You can also pick up a copy of the Monthly News Letter at the Post.
Have a very Happy 4th of July!

Auxiliary News:
For the Auxiliary New slate of officers please refer to page 1 of the Newsletter.
Ginni Mills saw the bus load of girls off for Girls State - we wish to thank all of those organizations and individuals who contributed to make this possible.
Our next scheduled meeting will not be until September - look for the date next month in the Newsletter and posted in the Social Quarters. We take a break during the summer because a lot of us have children and it allows us to spend more time with our families.
Just a reminder - breakfast is served every Sunday here at Post 72. We have different organizations who serve you breakfast. Look on line to see who is serving. Please come and support all of us because the money we raise is used to support local and state charities; local scholarships and our veterans.
All of our organizations are looking for volunteers to help in these efforts. Not a member, check to see if you are eligible to join. Veterans, Sons of the American Legion, potential Auxiliary members, all are welcome.
If you are unsure of your qualifications, please come by and someone will be happy to assist you.
We look forward to meeting you.

American Legion Riders News:
Thanks to all who volunteer their time to work the ALR breakfasts. These continue to generate funds for the Social Quarters. The next Legion Riders breakfast will be on July 25th from 9:00 am to noon. The weather's great - so come on out, have breakfast and join in our pick-up ride.
The "Show What You Ride, Show What You Drive" Bike & Car Show raised over $1500 for disabled veterans! A big Thank You to all who participated, entered, helped do whatever needed to be done -- it was most gratifying to see not only the Legion Riders and Partisans volunteer and work hard for this event, but also other members of the Post pitch in to help! A very special Thanks goes out to Judy Shumaker and Stan Adamowicz for slaving over a hot grill on a very hot day all day preparing food for the hungry masses!
And a special "Thanks" to Hoppy and Stan for all their hard work before, during and after the show - mowing, roping off areas, etc. No job went undone! "Thank You" just doesn't seem to be enough! The T-storms held off until everyone was packed up & ready to leave -- a great time was had by all!
We can never thank "Slider" enough for donating their time & talents to help make this year's show a smashing success! Thank you guys!
Another very special Thank You goes out to the Legion Riders who participated in the Flag Day Ceremony - Terrie Harne did a superb job presenting the American Flag during the ceremony.
The next Legion Riders meeting will be on Wednesday, July 7th at 7:00 pm.
