Warrenton Rifles Target Hungry Patrons

Post 72 Hosts the Walking Marine


American Legion Post 72 is proud to host Terry Sharpe, The Walking Marine, on May 18, 2018, during our Friday Night Steak and Seafood night.   Terry’s walk is key in maintaining public awareness of veterans issues, most notably the daily loss to suicide of 22 veterans. ALR Spring Poker Run

Join the Post 72 American Legion Riders for their Spring Poker Run, June 30, 2018.  Registration opens at 8am and Kick Stands up will begin at 10am.  This event will travel the beautiful byways of Northern Virginia  with scheduled stops planned for Sperryille, Madison, Lake Anna, and Culpepper.  For more information, please visit our event website at

Patrick AFB, FL Airmen and NCOs receive surprise notes from Fauquier County

Active Duty NCOs and Airmen assigned to the 45th Space Wing  were the latest recipients of Thank You Cards created by students in several Fauquier County Public Schools to show their support for our women and men in uniform.    Currently in its eighth year of operations, the  Thank You Card Program has distributed tens of thousands of  cards to service members around the globe.  Think it doesn’t make a difference?  Look at the smiles!

Mr. Stephen DeCoster selected as 2017 Virginia Boys State Delegate representing Post 72

Congratulations to Stephen DeCoster for his selection to represent Post 72 at the 2017 Virginia Boys State.  This annual program recognizes the accomplishments and leadership potential of high school juniors throughout the commonwealth and provides them an opportunity to be immersed in state-level government operations for a full week each summer.  Post 72 is proud to sponsor Stephen’s attendance and look forward his continued success!

This year’s American Legion Riders Holiday Party will be held on December 19th, 2016 beginning at 6PM at the Northside 29 Restaurant, 5037 Lee Highway, Warrenton (New Baltimore), VA.
